Philmore on Broadway

Originally opened on November 5th, 1923; Broadway Theater was one of five ‘neighborhood’ theaters in Fort Wayne, and the only one located on Broadway; a major commercial strip at the time. The theater changed names over the years but ran successfully for almost 60 years.

Several attempts were made to utilize the building once the theater moved out, however these attempts were unsuccessful. The doors were closed and the theater that once entertained thousands was left to deteriorate in 1985.

In 1997 several area businessmen financed the theater’s restoration and renovation. Great care was taken into preserving the historical nature of this 7,000 square foot Fort Wayne gem.

The theater reopened as Catablu Gourmet American Grille in 1998, and ran successfully for 11 years.

In 2010, after extensive renovations and great anticipation, the theater was revived once again as The Philmore on Broadway.

Through the main entrance off Broadway Ave, you enter the marbled floor foyer with adjacent coat room. Upon entering the doors onto the main level, you’re immediately greeted by the large, round bar area, offering a warm setting to meet friends and order a drink.
The spacious floor beyond the bar area offers a variety of seating choices.

An elevated stage is complete with professional lighting and sound, and a permanent dance floor.

The balcony level provides a bird’s eye view of the stage and main level happenings with elevated seating, additional full bar, intimate lounge area and separate restrooms.
